Quito Ecuador
After flights from Heathrow to Madrid and then on to Quito we were all rather travel weary, but all flights were on time and at about 4.30 pm (5 hours behind UK) we transferred to the Hotel Patio Andaluz for dinner and an overnight stay. Eared doves and feral pigeons were the only birds spotted on the journey through the traffic.
We had a long drawn out dinner of torillas, sea bass and fruit salad before making for our beds. Our first day of birding would follow . . . .
